Nutritionist - WIC Program - Columbia - Grant Funded Thrive in an innovative WIC environment like Pechita’s Café, Breastaurant — our educational meeting place for pregnant and breastfeeding women. We’re shaping best practices for public health outreach by using a participant-centered approach – and that’s just the beginning. The schedule for this full-time position will be 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with alternating Saturdays 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. This is a grant funded role that is reviewed for renewal annually. Responsibilities • Provide group nutrition education, individual counseling, and teaching in a medical setting as part of the WIC program. • Lead food demonstration classes and create practical nutrition strategies for pregnant and breastfeeding women and their families. • Support program goals related to healthy lifestyles, nutrition education, and public health outreach. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and resources for participants. Qualifications Preferred Criteria Bilingual skills in English/Spanish are strongly preferred. Previous WIC experience or nutrition education experience is ideal. At least one year of experience as a nutritionist or dietitian is preferred. Required Criteria Qualified candidates possess a bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Food & Nutrition. One year nutrition education experience in a medical setting. Professional experience in nutrition education, counseling, and teaching skills.
