Scientist, In Vivo Process Development Downstream

Kite Pharma seeks a scientist to design and optimize downstream purification processes for lentivirus manufacturing. The role involves applying advanced chemistry and engineering principles to develop scalable, cost-effective processes while supporting manufacturing scale-up and mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize scalable, safe, and cost-effective downstream lentivirus manufacturing processes
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems using advanced scientific and engineering principles
• Support manufacturing activities and process optimization at scale to improve performance and scalability
• Manage laboratory operations including work planning, documentation, and safety compliance
• Train, mentor, and guide colleagues on technical skills and process execution troubleshooting

Requirements

• B.S. with 6+ years, M.S. with 4+ years, or Ph.D./PharmD in science or engineering
• Hands-on proficiency with downstream unit operations for large biomolecules such as chromatography and filtration
• Sound understanding of bioprocess scale-up principles for large biomolecules
• Working knowledge of cGMP principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software such as JMP or GraphPad
• Strong collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills
• Excellent organization and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

Compensation: $133,195.00 - $172,370.00 base
