We are currently hiring for the following positions - GL USA Junior Telecommunications Engineer Location: GL Headquarters – Gaithersburg, MD USA Job Description: GL is searching for a junior telecommunications engineer to support its Products division. The engineer will build and ship products to customers and may also provide technical support to customers as needed. The successful candidate should have enthusiasm to learn new technical concepts in the telecommunications industry and must pay attention to detail, especially when building and shipping cutting‑edge hardware. GL possesses a vast product line for testing and analyzing telecommunications networks including Wireless (2G, 3G, 4G LTE, 5G), Ethernet, Analog and TDM. Technical degree from an accredited university Basic knowledge of telecommunications including TCP/IP (optional) Basic technician skills including soldering, building PCs, configuring Windows or Linux OS (optional) Knowledge of telecommunications technologies including Analog, TDM, Ethernet or Wireless (optional) Transit Infrastructure Engineer Location: GL Headquarters – Gaithersburg, MD USA Job Description: Responsible for engineering design, planning and project management for mid to large transit infrastructure deployments. Supports system assessment efforts; preliminary and final design reviews; system implementation and migration efforts; system interface/integration/testing; documenting the pre‑implementation conditions of vehicles and facilities; implementing configuration management processes; conducting and facilitating inspection and testing; logging and reporting daily project activities; and working with other engineers, system analysts, programmers, technicians, and managers for existing systems evaluation and system upgrades. Prior experience with transit systems, including ATC or railroad signaling is preferred but not required. This position requires daily interaction and discussion with GL clients and therefore strong communication skills are required. The individual should have prior experience leading projects involving design and construction management/project management to successful conclusion. Communications Systems Field Inspector – Fiber Background Location: GL Headquarters – Gaithersburg, MD USA Job Description: GL Communications Inc. is seeking a Systems Field Inspector that can perform systems inspection/field‑engineering duties on various transit projects in the Baltimore, MD area. A strong knowledge of fiber‑based communications systems and equipment installations is required. The person will oversee and document contractor field installations and maintenance operations on various transit projects. Knowledge of industry standard installation practices and methods is required.
