You will make critical updates to our core platform in order to enhance and extend the client experience. The e123 SaaS platform is a wide-ranging application built in ColdFusion. Clients in the insurance space use the platform for enrollment, policy administration, billing and numerous other functions. They typically refer to the platform as their "backoffice" since it performs most of the functions needed by insurance companies and is typically a mission-critical system. As such, the application is complex and requires attention to detail in order to modify and develop. The Application Developer works on updating the platform to incorporate new integrations for clients and carriers, extends the existing functionality, adds flexibility and choice to the platform and fixes any bugs that our clients may experience. You will work from tickets that outline the specifics of each task and work to understand those requirements. You will also use your insights and knowledge of the system to point out any items that might be overlooked on the ticket, since preventing issues from occurring is just as critical a part of this role as fixing known issues. Responsibilities:Use ColdFusion and related technologies to code new enhancements and solutions as part of our core platform and related applications.Test your own code and peer review code developed by your peersAdhere to OWASP principles for secure coding practices.Follow the e123 Software Development LifecyleCollaborate with Solutions Engineering and Support to understand requirements and provide solutions that match those requirements.Participate in all dev team group activitiesRequired Skills & Experience:2+ years of ColdFusion development experienceExperience with related technologies: MS-SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX.Experience in a SaaS, B2B environment is preferred, but not requiredCritical thinking skills and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to take initiative to proactively provide solutions.Attention to detail.Comfortable working in a fast-moving, rapidly evolving company and industry.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.College degree preferred
