About the Position

This role requires the ability to float to the Emergency Department as needed. The nurse must be able to manage higher patient ratios. First-time travelers are not accepted. Local candidates are not accepted. Pending licenses are not accepted. Description: This position involves critical care nursing, focusing on the management of adult patients in various states of critical illness. The nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive care, including ventilator management and administering blood products. Familiarity with specialized equipment such as arterial lines and intra-aortic balloon pumps is essential. The nurse must have experience with protocols for managing acute conditions such as ARDS, COPD, and acute shock. The ability to perform procedures like chest tube insertion and central line management is required. Effective communication and team collaboration are crucial in this role. The candidate must uphold infection prevention standards and adhere to safety protocols. Flexibility to float between departments based on organizational needs is mandatory. The nurse will also engage in monitoring and interpreting diagnostic tests, including EKGs and arterial blood gases.
