Dietary aides serve resident meals and snacks on a daily basis and support our dietary food service team as they verify that the proper food is served to the right resident – looking out for allergies, special needs, and requests. Other duties may include delivering meals to resident rooms or tables on a timely basis, clearing trays, taking part in cleaning routines, and reading meal tickets.Duties and responsibilities:Follow federal and state long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies & procedures.Perform work routines, using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Food Service Director and/or Cook.Provide assistance to the cook and other dietary staff in the preparation and service of meals as assigned.Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed. Set up a steam table, serve food in dining as instructed.Assist in checking diet trays before distribution for errors regarding diet and allergies. Deliver and collect food carts, trays, etc. to/ from designated areas.Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assure utensils, etc. are available for the next meal.Qualifications:Knowledge of food handling, preparation and service.Knowledge of local and state health and sanitation and safety codes is beneficial.Basic understanding of kitchen cookware and appliances.Previous cooking experience recommended.ServSafe certified; and ServSafe Allergens certification recommended.
