Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 90 % (36 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC Muscatine Family Medicine Clinic. This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Pediatrics and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics.

Duties to include:

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
• Current valid driver's license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards

Percent of Time: 90 % (36 hours per week)

Schedule: 36 hours/week will be accomplished from Monday Friday 0800 - 1700, with a one-hour lunch. No evenings or weekends

Location: Muscatine, IA. (or surround clinics based on clinical need or hours)

Pay Grade: 11

Salary: $40,910.18 - $60,942.46 (at 90% time) Hourly: $21.77 - $32.43 (based on years of experience)

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.

Special Qualification/License:

• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

Highly Desired Requirements:

• Previous EPIC experience
• Current or previous Family Medicine Clinic experience (within the past 2 years).
• Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical needs/hours.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role
• Previous phlebotomy experience
• Previous immunization experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Previous work experience utilizing customer service skills
• Minimum of one year of LPN experience preferred
• Previous Scribe experience.
