Rare Disease Business Manager, LSD (New York City)

About the Team The U.S. Foundational Therapies Platform (FTP) Business Unit brings together Takeda's Immunology, Hematology, Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSD), Alpha‑1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and Transplant portfolios to support patients who rely on long‑term treatment. The team focuses on continuity of care, reliability and sustained partnership, delivering foundational capabilities for patients, caregivers and healthcare providers at scale. Responsibilities Responsible for all business‑related activities within geographic responsibility, including achievement of sales goals through executing brand strategies. Call points focus on target physicians seeing patients with Lysosomal Storage Disorders, assisting healthcare providers with education necessary to aid early diagnosis and/or treatment. In‑depth business planning allows partnership with regional counterparts to allocate appropriate disease‑state and product education across the geography. Advanced customer engagement to create disease‑state awareness within multidisciplinary health‑care specialties, enhancing the LSD business and building support for the product portfolio. Educate and inform HCPs on the LSD product portfolio, describing signs, symptoms, differential diagnosis and appropriate Takeda treatment options. Collaborate with the LSD cross‑functional team and internal business partners to coordinate efforts, maximize impact and enhance business outcomes. Strategically analyze and apply market data to assess business opportunities and priorities, including regional health‑care market impact and patient dynamics. Attend conferences and exhibits to raise disease‑state awareness; plan and execute disease‑state and product programs using approved vendors. Partner and motivate extended team members to improve performance, fostering a culture of engagement and accountability. Integrate and prioritize US LSD approved sales leads and tactics with key stakeholders to optimize customer engagement and account outcomes. Minimum Requirements / Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and/or relevant clinical or industry experience; or 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary internal and external teams. Strong marketplace acumen. Rare disease experience preferred; complex sales model experience required. Consistent track record of success. Demonstrated strategic territory management successes. Ability to work within a complex sales model. Biotech, biologics, and specialty pharmacy experience helpful. Experience with buy & bill product selling/account management preferred. Understanding of payer access and reimbursement at regional, state, and local levels. Experience managing and communicating complex reimbursement issues. Key Skills Experience in a highly regulated marketplace. Excellent questioning and exploratory ability in customer calls. Technical competence in Excel/CRM/Data analysis. Consultative selling skills and strong organizational skills. Proven analytical capabilities. Ability to present to large and small groups. Teamwork and collaboration. Preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably in rare disease or sleep disorders. Sales experience with pharmaceutical or biologic products requiring coordination with patient access and market access teams. Consultative / needs‑based selling skills. Experience working in a highly regulated marketplace. Adept at leveraging emerging technologies, digital tools, and openness to AI‑enabled processes. Travel Requirements Candidate must live in the territory. Must work evenings and weekends as needed. Extensive travel required (approximately 50% of time). Must have authorization to drive a company‑leased vehicle or rental. Training Requirements The position and continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of mandatory product training, including written and oral examinations. The training period consists of live instruction, independent study, role play, and other related activities, limited to no more than 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Successful completion transitions the employee to exempt status. Compensation and Benefits U.S. hourly wage range: $66.11 – $90.91. Eligible for U.S. employees to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. Employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year, and new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation. The role is full‑time, employee, regular, non‑exempt.
