About the Position

Job Title: Echo Tech Profession: Radiology Specialty: Non-Invasive Cardiology Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 17:30 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RDCS/RCS Certifications: BLS Must-Have: TTE/TEE experience Description: The position involves performing echocardiograms in a busy clinical setting. The unit consists of 343 beds with a patient ratio of 8 to 9 echoes performed in a 10-hour shift. Staffing includes unit secretaries and multiple echo techs available. The primary equipment used is the Vivid E95 from GE. Documentation is managed through Merge for echo reporting and Meditech for EMR. The schedule requires working 4 ten-hour shifts from 07:00 to 17:30. On-call requirements include rotating every 5-7 days with 13.5 hours of call from 17:30 to 07:00. Weekend call is expected every 5th to 7th weekend. Floating may be required according to hospital policies. Procedures performed in this unit include TTE, TEE, and Stress Echo. Advanced skills in TEE are a plus. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. The unit has a supportive team with tenured staff, where five current members have 7 to 25 years of experience. There are two new graduates in orientation, and the non-invasive manager is an experienced echo tech.
