Position Overview Prep Academy Tutors of Northern Los Angeles is seeking qualified, dedicated, and compassionate Middle School Teachers and Tutors to provide personalized, one-on-one academic support to students in Grades 6–8 throughout the Northern Los Angeles area. Our educators work closely with students to strengthen core academic skills, build confidence, and prepare them for success in high school. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about helping middle school students thrive through individualized instruction tailored to each student's unique learning needs and academic goals. Our Northern Los Angeles division is committed to supporting families with exceptional, relationship-focused educational services. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one tutoring for middle school students (Grades 6–8) Support students in core academic subjects, including Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies Assist with homework, study skills, executive functioning, organization, and test preparation Develop individualized learning plans based on each student's needs and academic goals Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to families Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment Travel to students’ homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles area Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; teaching credential or advanced degree preferred Valid California teaching credential or equivalent is highly preferred Experience teaching or tutoring middle school students Strong knowledge of middle school curriculum and instructional best practices Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Reliable transportation Authorized to work in the United States What We Offer Competitive hourly compensation Flexible scheduling based on your availability Ongoing professional support Meaningful, long-term relationships with students and families The opportunity to make a lasting impact on students’ academic success Schedule & Availability Tutors create their own schedules based on availability and student demand. Work Location Northern Los Angeles, California Minimum Requirements Qualified applicants must hold a bachelor's degree and meet at least one of the following criteria: Hold a valid California teaching credential or equivalent Be a current student teacher pursuing a teaching credential Have two or more years of experience teaching middle school students in a public, private, or charter school Have significant experience providing one-on-one or small-group tutoring for middle school students Be a graduate student in education or a related field with teaching or instructional experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Prep Academy Tutors
