Job Summary

AFC Urgent Care in Temple is seeking an advanced practice provider to evaluate and treat patients with non-life threating illnesses and injuries.  The provider will deliver compassionate care with positive experience to all patients and work closely with the clinic team.

 

Responsibilities 

• Diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans for patients within an urgent care setting 
• Evaluate patients with acute illnesses and injuries and prescribe appropriate medications as required
• Order, interpret and follow up on diagnostic tests as well as provide referrals to the appropriate health care facilities
• Perform minor procedures when required within the scope of the practice
• Explain diagnosis, treatment instructions, warning signs and follow up plans to patients
• Complete and sign-off patient charts on a daily basis
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family
• Professional appearance and attitude
• ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certified – (with 1 yr ER/UC experience preferred)
• Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice, DEA number, and state-controlled substance certificate, as required
• Able to multi-task and work independently
