SIL Engineering Technician

Description: 

ENG- Fabricate interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings while performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of test bench and laboratory infrastructure equipment.

#Job Duties & Functions

*Fabricate interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings

*Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of test bench and laboratory infrastructure equipment

*Crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards

*Solder to the J-STD

*Read and understand aircraft-level wiring diagrams

*Interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams for metal fabrication and assemblies

*Use test equipment for troubleshooting and repair of wiring and isolation

*Work with serial data interfaces including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232, Ethernet, and IEEE-488

*Install fiber-optic cabling for reflective memory hardware

*Use hand tools and powered and unpowered shop equipment, including hand drills, wire crimpers, wire strippers, and soldering tools, in a safe manner

*Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

*Work in a team environment
