Portfolio Manager III
The Portfolio Manager III is responsible for the management of a loan portfolio, including underwriting and presenting commercial and consumer loans for approval. This position provides guidance and expertise to portfolio managers and collaborates with clients to understand their financial goals and risk tolerance.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Underwriting and presenting commercial and consumer loans for approval.
- Managing a loan portfolio including lines of credit, term loans and real estate loans. Responsible for annual reviews, renewal and increase requests.
- Ensuring timely payment of loans in the portfolio.
- Negotiating terms and conditions with existing borrowers.
- Closing loans renewals/increases in accordance with approved terms and conditions.
- Providing guidance and assisting the Portfolio Manager I and II as needed.
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Completing required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
- Performing any other related duties as required or assigned.
Supervises a small group (1-3) of employees in the same or lower classification. Assigns and checks work; assists and instructs as required, but performs same work as those supervised, or closely related work, most of the time. Content of the work supervised is of a non-technical nature and does not vary in complexity to any great degree.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree. Plus 8 years related experience and/or training and 5 years related management experience.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
Basic: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry
Intermediate: Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
Normal working conditions as found within an office setting, wherein there is controlled temperature and a low noise level, plus a minimum of distractions.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- College degree in general business, finance, economics or accounting, preferred - Eight (8) years lending experience - Five (5) years' experience with banking, investment, or economic analysis - Two (2) years' experience using Microsoft Word and Excel - Must have general computer skills - The ability to communicate using oral and written skills
