At Progress Rail, the team is not just building the future of rail—they are making history every day.Key Job ElementsKey Responsibilities• Assist with the implementation of standard material management processes for within the warehouse and delivery to production lines.• Assist with slotting strategies, SKU velocity segmentation, and layout reconfigurations to optimize space utilization, reduce travel distances, and improve order cycle times.• Conduct or assist with time studies, workflow analysis, and work element breakdowns to quantify tasks, eliminate inefficiencies, and balance workloads.• Identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction to lower costs, improve quality, and enhance productivity.• Support and sustain a continuous process improvement culture within the manufacturing environment.• Assist in updating production orders to reflect BOM or sequence changes.Education / Training· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).· 3-5 years of experience in warehousing or a manufacturing/industrial engineering environment (rail, automotive, aerospace, or heavy machinery preferred).Qualifications and Experience• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data-driven approaches.• Proficiency in industrial engineering tools such as time studies, work measurement, line balancing, and process mapping.• Experience with CAD tools and manufacturing software is a plus.Key Skills• Process Optimization: Ability to identify inefficiencies, streamline workflows, and enhance productivity.• Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proven experience applying lean and waste-reduction techniques.• Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to convey ideas across diverse audiences.• Collaboration: Builds partnerships and works effectively with teams to achieve shared goals.• Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of production systems, equipment, and quality principles.BenefitsCompensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
