Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week assignment requiring VA or compact RN license, prior travel experience, and advanced interventional cardiac procedure skills.

Details

• Acute care teaching hospital Cath Lab with 6 procedure rooms and daily census of 15-20 adult patients
• Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and ASD/PFO closures
• Performs advanced procedures including TAVR, LAA closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
• Utilizes equipment including IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS
• Epic charting system required
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, 7:30am-6pm, plus call
• Up to 26 weeks available by request
• On-call requirement of 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts every 6-week period, including one full weekend (Fri-Sun) and one Saturday for elective cases
• Must be able to return to hospital within 30 minutes when called
• Must be available to work or take call for one holiday per 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license (in hand or pending accepted, with emergency authorization available while processing)
• ACLS and BLS certification required; CCI RCIS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, 3+ years preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• 1:1 patient ratio experience
• Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
• Scrub experience required
• Proficient in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition/interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols
• Experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

• Supported by a multidisciplinary team with adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility (per driver's license address) are not accepted
• Previous employees (per diem or permanent) must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who have worked 365 days on assignment are not eligible to return, regardless of separation period, with case-by-case exceptions reviewed by leadership
