Evening shift: School year hours: Monday-Friday 3:00PM - 11:30PM

Training period hours (4-6 weeks): Monday-Friday 2:30PM - 11:00PM

Summer and school break hours: Monday-Friday 6:30AM - 3:00PM

Occasional weekend hours in the summer

Work year: 2026-2027

This is a year-round position.

Salary: According to the Custodial Salary Scale

FY27 starting salary: $50,158.00 plus nightly differential of 7% and an increase after 6 consecutive months of service

Job responsibilities: The building custodian is generally responsible for the achievement of the purposes of custodian services in the building, i.e., preserve property values, protect health and safety of occupants; support the educational objectives of the building and provide a climate of learning, develop goodwill and maintain cleanliness and neatness • Grounds upkeep, snow removal • Perform all other general duties as indicated by the principal, directives of the superintendent of schools or his/her designee, the custodial supervisor or his/her designee, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred but not required • Physical and mental capabilities to perform above work • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent of schools may find appropriate and acceptable. Ability to understand spoken and written English.
