Langdon Place of Portsmouth is seeking an energetic, creative, and compassionate Part-Time Activities Assistant to join our team!

As an Activities Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to build relationships with residents while helping create meaningful experiences that promote socialization, independence, and quality of life.

• Assist with planning and implementing recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for residents

• Lead and participate in group and individual activities

• Encourage residents to participate in programs based on their interests and abilities

• Assist with games, crafts, music, exercise, celebrations, outings, and special events

• Help develop creative and engaging activities that meet a variety of resident interests

• Provide one-on-one activities and companionship when appropriate

• Assist residents to and from scheduled activities and programs

• Help prepare activity areas and supplies before programs and clean up afterward

• Maintain activity calendars, attendance records, and other documentation as needed

• Assist with community outings and resident events

• Build positive relationships with residents and their families

• Work collaboratively with nursing and other departments to support residents' overall well-being

• Promote resident dignity, independence, choice, and quality of life

• Previous experience working with seniors or in a healthcare, assisted living, or long-term care setting preferred, but not required

• Energetic, outgoing, creative, and compassionate personality

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to motivate and engage residents with varying interests and abilities

• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team

• Willingness to work a flexible part-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
