Clinical Research Physician Investigator / Principal Investigator (PI)Seeking a Physician to develop and maintain expert knowledge of study-related activities and protocols.Join a dynamic team focused on advancing medical discovery through high-quality clinical research. The organization conducts rigorous clinical research studies designed to improve patient care and contribute to advancements in healthcare.The PI assumes overall responsibility for study conduct, including:Personally conducting or supervising research activities.Ensuring delegated tasks are performed by appropriately qualified individuals based on education, training, and experience.Protecting the rights, safety, and welfare of study participants.Ensuring research is conducted in compliance with federal regulations, state laws, organizational policies, and SOPs.Ensuring studies follow the IRB-approved protocol.Maintaining the accuracy, security, and integrity of research data and analysis.Duties and responsibilities include:Develop and maintain expert knowledge of study-related activities and protocols.Assume investigator responsibilities and obligations in accordance with Title 21 CFR Part 312 and FDA Form 1572.Adhere to study protocols, FDA regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements.Maintain confidentiality of study sponsors and clinical trial information.Perform study-related procedures, including physical examinations, informed consent, medical history review, adverse event assessment, test article handling, appointment scheduling, medical records review, treatment coordination, vital sign collection, and participant health assessments.Review and adjudicate laboratory, imaging, and biopsy findings.Assist with preparation for study monitoring visits.Conduct participant screening and recruitment.Provide occasional weekend coverage to facilitate study visits according to protocol requirements.Provide after-hours telephone coverage as needed.Oversee Sub-Investigators and clinical research/recruitment staff.Education & experience:1-2 years of Principal Investigator/clinical research experience preferred.1-2 years of clinical practice in one or more of the following areas preferred:Internal MedicineBehavioral NeurologyFamily MedicineEndocrinologyGastroenterologyLiver Disease/HepatologyLicensure & certification:Current and active physician license required.Board Certification preferred.Knowledge, skills & abilities:Strong written and verbal communication skills.Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Professional, positive, and patient-focused demeanor.Ability to adapt to changing priorities.Strong mathematical and analytical skills.Excellent computer skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web browsers, and web-based enterprise software.Work environment & physical requirements:Work may be performed in an office, laboratory, and/or clinical environment.May involve exposure to biological fluids and bloodborne pathogens.Personal protective equipment may be required, including protective eyewear, garments, and gloves.Occasional domestic or international travel may be required.Ability to remain upright or stationary for 6-10 hours per day.Frequent mobility is required.Occasional squatting, kneeling, or bending.Ability to lift and carry medical equipment or other objects weighing approximately 20-50 lbs.
