Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Oncology) - Wknd - Nights

Job Summary Night Shift Nursing role focused on delivering patient centered care and fostering a collaborative team environment within Wellstar Health System. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Exemplary Practice and Outcomes Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in clinical care using evidence‑based practice. Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that adapts to population characteristics and cultural diversity. Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods (bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, patient teaching) and focuses care plans on patient goals. Practicely applies current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting inclusive interdisciplinary communication. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and supports recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participates in performance improvement, research, and shared governance at all system levels. Professional Development and Initiative Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education. Serves as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, or students. Evidence Based Practice and Research Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Upholds system policies, legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements, including TJC Patient Safety Goals. Participates in data collection, poses clinical questions, and consults experts to address practice questions. Resources and Support Plans patient care across the continuum and participates in developing protocols to achieve best‑practice outcomes. Supports efficient use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all Wellstar policies and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Associate's Nursing or Diploma (RN) or Bachelor’s Nursing (preferred). Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) Registered Nurse (RN) – Single State or RN‑COMPACT. Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent (e.g., ARC‑BLS, BLS‑I Instructor). Additional License(s) and Certification(s) Other certifications as required upon hire. Required Minimum Experience Clinical experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting. Required Minimum Skills Clinical critical thinking and analytics. Interdisciplinary collaboration and communication.
