A large company is seeking a Material Handler who will handle receiving, storing, and distributing materials and equipment, maintain established inventory standard levels of supplies, ensure correct delivery and shipment of materials, and process order documentation.  This is a first shift position working 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:

• Obtain component materials from stock location by making appropriate scan using handheld device
• Deliver material to designated areas and ensuring that a minimum of two hours stock is in those areas while using the FIFO method for inventory
• Move finished goods to designated area once completed by production, use handheld device to verify finished assembly container is in shippable condition
• Obtain returnable containers or pallets for the areas in which assigned and return unused material to stock locations by making appropriate scan
• Maintain stock areas and aisle ways ensuring that they are clear of material and obstructions and maintain outside storage area and tub warehouse as well as obtaining containers, pallets, etc. from area
• Follow all safety rules by properly using harness/safety belt, completion of daily checklist, properly changing battery, and performing preventative maintenance tasks
• Receive in production and MRO material by verifying material received matches order, check for damage to product, and turn in appropriate paperwork to accounting
• Ship and receive outside processed components by weighing outgoing parts, complete packing slips, and match incoming material with vendor packing slips
• Empty recyclable containers and dispose of scrap from bins
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED with 1 year manufacturing experience
• At least 2 years of related experience required for success in this position
• Must be able to operate and become a certified industrial powered truck operator
• Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
• Must be able to read and understand instructions and pre-established and guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Proficient computer skills in all applications and Knowledge of and ability to use a handheld scanning device is needed
• Must have the ability to follow all safety rules by properly using harness/safety belt, completion of daily checklist, properly changing battery, and performing preventative maintenance tasks
• Must have excellent communication skills while working with employees, customer, suppliers, as well as, internal and external customer
• Must be comfortable walking, kneeling and standing on concrete floor for a minimum of 8 hours daily and frequently lifting up to 40 pounds
