Clinical Lab Technologist

Thispositionperformsavarietyoflaboratorytests,manyofwhicharecomplex,involvingnumerousstepsandtechniques,andrequirestheuseofprofessionaljudgment.Professionalapplicationoftheprinciples,theoriesandtechniquesofmedicaltechnologyareusedtoproduceconsistentlyreliabletestresultswhichaidthephysicianinthediagnosisandtreatmentofpatients.Trainsotherlaboratorypersonnelandprovidesinputinjobperformance.Thispositionassiststhelaboratoryadministrativedirectorinperformanceofgenerallaboratorydutiestoinclude,validation,qualitycontrol,performanceimprovement,policyandproceduremaintenance,andnursingandphysiciansupport.Thispositionmaybedesignatedasasectionsupervisorinanareaoflicensuretoprovidefullsupervisionofthelaboratory.Thispositionmayactastheback-upadministrativedirectorwhenneeded. MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’sDegree(orhigher)inClinicallaboratory,MedicalTechnology,ChemicalorBiologicalSciencesoreducationalqualifications as outlined in Florida Licensure Administrative rule 64B3-5 for a medical technologist position. StateofFloridalicensedasaclinicallaboratorytechnologistinanyoralloftheareasofChemistry,Hematology,Serology,ImmunohematologyandMicrobiology Aminimumoffive(5)yearsoffull-timetechnicalexperienceinlicensedspecialtiestoincludetestinterpretation,qualitycontrolandinstrumentmaintenance AmericanHeartAssociationBLScertificationrequired. Abletoworkeffectivelywithteammembers,supervisors,patientsandtheirfamiliestoaccomplishteamgoals. Abilitytoplan,organizeandperformjobassociatedtaskstocompletion.Willingtoadjustpersonalscheduletoaccommodatepatientneeds. Demonstratedknowledgeofcomputersandproficiencyintheuseofanelectronichealthrecordsystemrequired,CPSI/Evidentpreferred.Knowledgeofweb -based programsandMicrosoftOfficesuiteofproductsincludingOutlook,WordandExcelpreferred. Basiccomputerskills. LANGUAGESKILLS Strongwrittenandverbalskillswiththeabilitytocommunicateeffectivelywithcustomers,medicalstaff,andhospitalstaff.
