Medical Technologist - Evening Shift

Schedule: Evening shift with rotating weekends

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: Normal

Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology or a related area of specialty
• Certification/registration or certification/registry eligible as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician
• Knowledge of principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology
• Skills in both verbal and written communication

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests in various areas (hematology, immunohematology, immunology, bacteriology, microscopy, routine chemistry, therapeutic drug monitoring) following established protocols.
• Conduct phlebotomies, including arterial puncture and venipunctures, applying age-specific criteria.
• Process specimens and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and quality control.
• Validate and report test results accurately and timely.
• Assist in the development of laboratory policy and procedural manuals.
• Participate in training and orientation of students and new employees.

Compliance / Notes:

• Adhere to all safety practices, including infection control and exposure control plans.
• Attend all required inservice education sessions.
• Comply with the Code of Conduct and relevant policies and procedures.
