This position requires exceptional skills in cross-functional coordination and the ability to influence without direct authority to drive initiatives forwards. The role synthesizes complex technical information from across the organization to enable timely executive decision-making while upholding the highest standards of nuclear safety and quality.Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:Identify, track, and proactively remove roadblocks across HTGR reactor development projects to maintain progress against critical timelinesKnowledge of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, NQA-1, ASME Section III & VIII, ISO 9001, NEI 18-04, and 10 CFR 21, and familiarity with NRC Regulations, Codes, and StandardsStrong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering documentation, regulatory requirements, and quality recordsDemonstrated experience with root cause analysis, defect trending, corrective action programs, and continuous improvement methodologiesAbility to develop, implement, and maintain quality processes, procedures, documentation, and quality management systemsStrong organizational, documentation, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work in fast paced, multi project environmentsDemonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring and supporting training, audits, surveillances, and supplier evaluationsExperience supporting nuclear facilities or nuclear power plant construction activities preferredCoordinate with technical leads, Engineering, Procurement, and regulatory stakeholders to resolve cross-functional challengesConsolidate and distill complex technical information into concise, actionable intelligence for executive leadershipEstablish effective communication channels between technical teams, ensuring alignment of priorities and resourcesLead cross-functional initiatives through influence and relationship-building rather than direct authorityCreate and maintain project documentation, decision matrices, and status reportsSupport change management processes when project scope or requirements evolveDevelop and track performance metrics to measure project health and progressAnticipate potential obstacles before they impact schedules and develop contingency plansMaintain a professional demeanor and behavior at all times, in all forms of communication.Perform other duties as assigned by manager.Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, preferably in mechanical, chemical or other related discipline, or 5 years of experience in lieu of degree.Typically, ten years of experience in a role in Engineering or related field required.Experience in engineering project environmentsDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authorityExperience with project management methodologies and associated tools.Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MDWork Site Expectations: 4-5 days in officeTravel Expectations: Up to 10% as needed for project assignmentHours: Standard office hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm ET, Monday - FridayCompensationAs required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.).
