Line Cook

Viridian is a craft cocktail bar and restaurant in Uptown Oakland serving contemporary dishes inspired by Asian American nostalgia. Our kitchen is grounded in care, consistency, and collaboration, and we take pride in creating food—and a work environment—that people genuinely enjoy being part of.

We are currently seeking an evening line cook who takes pride in their craft, values teamwork, and shows up with curiosity, accountability, and a strong sense of professionalism.

You’re a cook who:

• Takes ownership of your station and your work; Holds self accountable for maintaining high standards

• Communicates clearly and respectfully with teammates

• Understands that consistency and preparation are just as important as creativity

• Shows up ready to contribute to a positive, focused service

• Can accept feedback, adjust, and keep moving forward

• Enjoys being part of a team where everyone pulls their weight

• Minimum 3 years of experience   in a quality-driven, high-volume restaurant

• Solid foundational cooking techniques and basic knife skills

• Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment

• Professional demeanor during busy services

• Strong attention to detail and food safety standards

• Comfortable taking direction and asking questions when needed

• Dependable, punctual, and consistent in performance

• Able to multitask and prioritize during service

• Execute assigned stations with consistency, accuracy, and care

• Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and plating guidelines

• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations at all times

• Prep and stock stations to ensure smooth and efficient service

• Support kitchen leadership and fellow cooks as needed

• Communicate clearly during service and prep

• Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation

• Uphold kitchen systems, policies, and safety practices

• Be adaptable—able to assist in different areas of the kitchen when needed
