Doniphan-Trumbull Public Schools is seeking a Coach / Sponsor for the Activities Department. The ideal candidate will have a high school degree or GED, and preferably a Nebraska Teaching or Administrative and Supervisory Certificate, with a Special Services Certificate in coaching. First Aid and CPR training is required, and a motor vehicle operator's license with a certificate to operate a school van is necessary. Coaching experience is preferred.

The coach will report to the Activities Director and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the assigned team, using good judgment to determine athlete participation during practices and games, and positively promoting the athletic program within the schools and the community. The coach will also assist in the selection and evaluation of assistant coaches, coordinate with the Activities Director in planning and scheduling practices, announcements, competitions, and the like, supervise locker rooms and playing areas, remain with students and supervise them when traveling to away events, oversee and tend to injured athletes, care for and maintain equipment and annual inventories, work closely with custodians in control at facilities, serve as a role model to all students, serve as a positive member of the community in a way that does not negatively affect the District's reputation or image in the community, refrain from engaging in conduct that interferes with the operations of the District, including the education of students, develop and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other staff and administration, adhere to all District policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives, maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and District rules, and adhere to the code of ethics of the District and the Nebraska Department of Education.

The FLSA status for this position is Exempt. The essential functions of the Coach position include regular, dependable in-person attendance on the job, the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the identified work activities, and the ability to perform the following identified physical requirements: Stamina, Flexibility, Activities, Use of Arms and Hands, Lifting Requirements, Pushing/Pulling, and Carrying.
