Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities to replace manual and fragmented workflows with AI, automation, and agentic solutions. Design, build, integrate, deploy, and iterate on AI-enabled applications, internal tools, and technical systems. Partner with Operations, Customer Success, IT, Data Infrastructure, and AI Software teams to translate operational needs into scalable solutions. Evaluate and operate production AI systems using representative data, evaluation methods, production signals, and human judgment. Debug complex implementation issues, reproduce failures, test hypotheses, and drive blockers to resolution. Develop reusable architectures, tooling, documentation, and technical guidance for AI-powered automation and agentic systems. Monitor reliability, observability, security, privacy, data governance, performance, cost, quality, and usage signals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in AI/ML Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. 5+ years of relevant technical experience. Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying AI-enabled applications or software systems, including code, architecture, evaluation, integration, and production readiness. Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, system integration, data pipelines, infrastructure, and distributed systems. Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Git, LLMs, AI or agentic frameworks, workflow automation, and AI coding agents or tools. Ability to translate ambiguous operational needs into technical requirements and practical AI or software solutions. Experience evaluating and operating AI systems in production, including understanding reliability, observability, security, privacy, data governance, performance, and cost. Ability to work independently, take significant ownership, make technical trade-offs, and collaborate across engineering, partner teams, and leadership.
