Job Summary

Operating Room Registered Nurse position supporting a neurology surgery department in an acute care setting. The role provides circulating and scrub support for a broad range of neurological procedures, including spinal fusions and craniotomies, with scheduled day shifts and required call coverage.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; at least 1 year of experience with neurological operating room cases, including spinal fusions and craniotomies.
• Schedule: Day shifts are 10 hours, typically 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Call shifts may be scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., including approximately 1–2 weeknight call shifts per week and weekend call rotation approximately once per month.
• Additional Information: Supports approximately 200 neurological surgeries per month, including spine and cranial procedures. Responsibilities may include circulating in the operating room and scrubbing when assigned. A charge nurse is available, with supervisory coverage provided at all times. Operating room technicians are available, and department-specific orientation is typically provided during the first week. Blue scrubs are provided; personal shoes are required.
