Advanced RN - Surgery Services

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing exceptional surgical nursing care. This role involves collaborating closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and surgical staff to support patients before, during, and after surgical procedures using sterile techniques and specialized equipment.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of acute care nursing experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license valid in a Compact State or the state of employment.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities include:

• Adhering to established patient safety protocols such as infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a safe care environment.
• Delivering high-quality nursing care including medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.
• Performing thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and provide accurate information to the healthcare team.
• Documenting all patient care activities and quality monitoring data accurately to support compliance with quality standards.
• Communicating effectively with physicians, team members, patients, and families to improve outcomes and patient experience.
• Delegating tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Adapting positively to the dynamic healthcare environment and engaging in continuous professional development.

Physical and Mental Demands: This position requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various physical movements such as standing, turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. The work environment includes frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals.
