What You'll Do Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with a wide variety of acute illnesses and injuries Order and interpret diagnostic testing, including laboratory studies, X-rays, and EKGs Develop evidence-based treatment plans and prescribe medications as appropriate Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, and other in-office procedures Provide occupational medicine services, including DOT physicals and Workers' Compensation evaluations Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care Document patient encounters accurately using Athena EMR Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to deliver efficient, patient-centered care What Makes WesTex Different At WesTex Urgent Care, we invest in our providers as much as we invest in our patients. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Active Texas NP or PA license Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain) Board Certified (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA) Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred) DOT Medical Examiner Certification is a plus but not required Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine experience preferred Family Practice providers with strong acute care experience are encouraged to apply Exceptional new graduates with strong emergency or acute care clinical rotations will be considered Why Join WesTex Urgent Care?
