Senior Automation Engineer

This position is for a Senior Automation Engineer who will work NIGHT shift. The role is Onsite in West Point, PA with no travel required. The candidate must have a BGV Fully Cleared status and will be provided with a client laptop. The shifts are rotated every three months between Day and Night. Specific shift timings include:

• Standard Shift: 9 am - 5 pm
• Day Shift: 7 am - 7 pm
• Night Shift: 7 pm - 7 am

The hiring manager is open to a contractor who can work only nights: 7 PM – 7 AM, with a schedule of 2 days on, 2 days off, followed by 3 days on, 3 days off. There will be a shutdown period typically during Christmas where the contractor wouldn't be expected to work, usually for 3 weeks (they would be paid at the standard rate during this time). During onboarding, typically the first 6 weeks, the candidate would start at the STD rate.

Top must-have keywords include experience with shift work and open to 12-hour shifts; PLC/Robotics/Automation systems. Life Sciences Manufacturing experience is mandatory. Must-haves include:

• PLC (AB, Siemens) and DeltaV
• Life Science - Change Control, SOP, Documentation

Responsibilities include:

• Design, configure, and maintain PLCs, SCADA, DeltaV systems
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade existing control systems
• Provide technical support to customers, engineers, and other stakeholders
• Monitor and analyze system performance
• Ensure regulatory compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Utilize best practices, standards, and procedures related to automation systems maintenance
• Handle Change Control related processes and technical documentation, including design specification, user manuals, and operational procedures
• Participate in project management and project coordination
• Support interfaces between Data Historians, Control Systems, MES
• Maintain and update knowledge articles and databases to help troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively
