Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pre-Op / Ambulatory Surgery

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Pre-Op / Ambulatory Surgery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide professional care for surgical patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. In this role, you will prepare patients for surgical procedures, monitor pre-operative status, collaborate with surgical teams, and ensure patient safety in accordance with professional nursing standards and state regulations.

Compensation & Schedule:

• Pay Rate: $31.62+ / hour (commensurate with education and experience)
• Relocation Allowance: Up to $5,000 relocation assistance available
• Call Requirements: Periodic weeknight, Friday, and weekend call coverage as needed for surgical/ambulatory service needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pre-Operative Care: Perform comprehensive pre-surgical assessments, review medical histories, verify surgical consents, and prepare patients physically and emotionally for procedures.
• Patient & Family Instruction: Educate patients and family members regarding perioperative expectations, surgical prep instructions, and post-discharge recovery guidelines.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perioperative staff, and PACU nurses to execute individualized surgical care plans.
• Clinical Monitoring: Administer prescribed pre-operative medications, establish IV access, monitor vital signs, and immediately report changes in patient status.
• Regulatory & Documentation Compliance: Maintain precise medical documentation in alignment with healthcare standards, state regulations, and infection control protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma from an accredited program [Required] (Bachelor of Science in Nursing - BSN preferred) .
• Clinical Experience: Prior hospital clinical nursing experience within the last 5 years [Preferred] .
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License [Required] .
• Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) [Required / Highly Preferred] .
• Core Competencies: Strong clinical assessment skills, perioperative protocol knowledge, patient advocacy, and effective multidisciplinary communication.
