Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse-Operating Room supports safe, efficient surgical care by functioning as both a circulator and scrub nurse. This role manages perioperative workflow, coordinates with the surgical team, and maintains compliance with clinical standards across multiple OR specialties.

Responsibilities:

• Scrub in for assigned cases and prepare/maintain sterile fields throughout procedures
• Circulate during surgical cases by coordinating supplies, equipment, and sterile-to-nonsterile workflow
• Assist with patient positioning, pre-procedure verification, and intraoperative documentation
• Maintain accurate perioperative charting using EPIC and complete required checklists
• Follow infection prevention practices, sterile technique standards, and safety protocols
• Support first-start and ongoing readiness through required competencies and department onboarding

Qualifications:

• Hold an active NJ or Compact RN license at time of submission
• Maintain current BLS certification at time of submission
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of acute care OR experience or equivalent circulating/scrubbing experience
• Possess robotic and ENT experience requirements, plus experience with ortho, vascular, general, thoracic, and neuro cases
• Provide evidence of scrub and circulate skills via submission checklist and work history
• Be prepared to float within skillset and support varied OR specialties
