Shift will be primarily days, with rotating weekends and potential for occasional on-call hours.

Job Description

Proficiently performs a variety of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological tests and procedures following established policies and procedures of the laboratory and requirements of accrediting and regulating agencies. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide laboratory services appropriate to the age of the patients served including newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and procedures with proficiency.
• Follow established laboratory policies and ensure compliance with accrediting and regulating agencies.
• Provide laboratory services appropriate for patients of all ages.
• Utilize good interpersonal skills and sound judgment to ensure quality patient care.
• Communicate effectively through both written and verbal means.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Experience in phlebotomy is a must.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) required.
• Degree in Medical Technology/Lab Science or a related biological science.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. or more and follow proper body mechanics as relates to the job.
