Position Overview

Join our team as a Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. Performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Within the veterinary field, this position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist.

Eastgate Animal Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been a trusted fixture in the greater Cincinnati area since 1968, delivering over 50 years of high-quality, compassionate veterinary care to the communities of Cincinnati, Mt. Carmel, and Clermont. What sets Eastgate apart is the breadth of their service offering — from routine wellness and dentistry to oncological services and cold laser therapy — as well as their grooming and boarding capabilities, making it a true one-stop destination for pet owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
• Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
• Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
• Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
• Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
• Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Qualifications (Required)

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• Animal experience
• Customer service

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Veterinary hospital experience, animal care knowledge, cornerstone practice software knowledge, knowledge about vaccines, medications, etc.

Schedule

• Must be able to work evenings (12 or 1pm start to close which would be 6:30 or 7:30pm)
• Must be able to work on Fridays and some weekends.
• During the week, we could guarantee 20 hours, and it could be higher if other staff members are out of town.
• Also open to cross train in the kennel, etc.
