Dothan, AL | Acute Care – Level II Trauma Facility

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-hour shifts | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Every other weekend required | Block scheduling may be accommodated

Key Responsibilities

• Provide neurocritical care nursing for patients with diagnoses including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, post-thrombectomy care, traumatic brain injuries, status epilepticus, spinal cord injuries, and other neurological conditions requiring intensive intervention
• Maintain a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced Neuro ICU environment
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including intracranial pressure monitors and external ventricular drains
• Float to CCU as needed based on unit demands
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active Alabama RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Neuro ICU experience required
• Permanent address must be at least 90 miles from the facility — local candidates will not be considered
• Permanent address must be provided at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred; highly experienced first-time travelers may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Experience working in large, high-acuity healthcare facilities
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
