As Lead Barista, you are an integral member of the café team, guiding the team to maintain compelling product presentations and overseeing the efficient running of the Café. You are both a trusted expert and hands‑on leader, creating a welcoming environment where baristas feel supported and able to address concerns promptly and effectively. Core Responsibilities Use mastered drink‑making and food‑preparation skills to model best practices and coach the café team. Coach the café team on merchandising, maintaining a vibrant bake case and displays while meeting cleanliness and presentation standards. Guide baristas in visual merchandising to maintain counter and floor fixtures. Improve register speed and accuracy, coaching baristas in customer conversations. Support baristas in receiving, unpacking, and stocking deliveries following FIFO practices. Maintain Café cleanliness through daily and weekly tasks. Maintain bookfloor presentation and high standards. Coach the team on loss‑prevention procedures and ensure a safe, secure bookstore. Additional Duties as Skills Grow Accurately place food and beverage orders, keeping the Café in stock. Submit monthly inventory and waste logs on time. Coach the team on delivering effective food and beverage recommendations. Lead the Café’s focus on key sales objectives such as LTO, promotions, and membership.
