The vehicle management software team writes software for a wide range of aircraft subsystems that make an airplane fly. Your ImpactYou will be able to take your passion for software and avionics and your experience as a technical team lead use it to help lead and grow a team of software engineers to develop software for a wide range of aircraft systems supporting both rapid prototyping efforts and deliverable software.The responsibilities for this role will include:product owner of various subsystems with responsibilities for planning, scheduling, cost, and executiontechnical team lead and SME support for avionics subsystems.interfacing with key software leadership, systems engineers, and test engineers to ensure alignment to program objectivesfull software lifecycle development spanning across many avionics services, ground station development and mission system software technologies.development of simulations to support software developmentparticipating in integration and test eventssupporting planning and scheduling for key integration and milestone eventsPlans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree or above from an accredited college in a relevant field of study; or equivalent experienceExperience with C and/or C++Experience with Linux or RTOS (real time operating systems) and associated development toolchainsExperience as technical lead and/or product owner in an Agile software developmentExperience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)***Must be a US Citizen.
