Learning Coach, Alpha - $120,000/year USD

Alpha students complete their academic workload in only two hours per day through adaptive learning systems. That leaves Guides free to concentrate on the work that transforms lives: cultivating confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to take on difficult challenges. You won't be standing at the front delivering lectures. Instead, you'll be coaching students through obstacles, recognizing achievements, and demonstrating what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support. You’ll oversee one K-3 cohort band—Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your time involves facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining half is dedicated to individual and small-group coaching, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly targets. Every moment counts. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled and leave your coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they believed possible. What You Will Be Doing Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, concentration, feedback reception, and other foundational skills through active engagement rather than passive listening. Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child advances toward challenging weekly learning targets. Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass system, coaching students until they show genuine mastery—not merely attendance. Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, physical activity, and narrative for younger children or greater autonomy and responsibility for older students. Cultivate relationships where students feel secure enough to push past their perceived limitations. What You Won’t Be Doing Delivering academic instruction at a whiteboard. Students complete academics using adaptive technology. Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven frameworks rather than designing lessons from scratch. Observing students work quietly on devices. Your function is active coaching, encouragement, and engagement. Reducing standards when students face difficulty. Growth happens by helping students meet the challenge, not by lowering the bar. Administering homework, grading assignments, or managing standard parent correspondence. Learning Coach Key Responsibilities Develop a cohort of K-3 students who are excited to attend school, regularly meet ambitious learning objectives, and acquire the life skills that equip them to succeed well beyond elementary school. Basic Requirements Prepared to work on-site at an Alpha campus. Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or comparable settings. Demonstrated success motivating young children to reach difficult objectives, with concrete examples of your influence. Ease with AI-powered learning systems while dedicating your primary effort to coaching, motivation, and life-skill cultivation. Capacity to combine genuine warmth with consistently high expectations. Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship. Nice-to-have Requirements Background in youth athletics, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori education, progressive schooling, or engaging after-school programs. Personal track record of reaching ambitious objectives in academics, sports, or professional pursuits. Exceptional storytelling or presentation abilities that naturally engage young children's attention. Demonstrated success helping hesitant or reserved children become confident, active contributors.
