The Position

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Administrator with a strong background in California healthcare architecture and HCAI / OSHPD-regulated projects to join our team in either Los Angeles or San Diego .
• This is a senior-level opportunity suited for an experienced Senior Project Architect, Senior Project Manager, or Construction Administrator who excels during the construction phase and is comfortable serving as a key representative between the design team, client, contractor, consultants, and regulatory stakeholders.
• You will take a leadership role throughout construction, providing technical oversight, managing CA documentation and field issues, protecting design intent, and helping drive complex healthcare projects through successful completion and closeout.

Hybrid Schedule:

• Monday & Friday: Work From Home
• Tuesday–Thursday: In Office / Site Visits / Project-Based

What You’ll Do

• Lead Construction Administration (CA) activities for complex healthcare and institutional projects throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Serve as a primary project representative during construction, working closely with owners, contractors, consultants, and internal design teams.
• Manage and review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, pay applications, substitutions, and other construction-phase documentation.
• Perform regular site visits, field observations, and construction progress reviews.
• Monitor construction for alignment with contract documents, approved design intent, applicable codes, and project quality standards.
• Support the delivery of HCAI / OSHPD-regulated healthcare projects , including coordination of agency requirements and construction-related compliance issues.
• Identify field conflicts, technical challenges, and potential risks early and drive them toward timely resolution.
• Evaluate contractor change requests, construction costs, value-engineering proposals, and scope modifications.
• Coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, inspectors, and client representatives.
• Lead construction-phase meetings and maintain clear communication among project stakeholders.
• Track outstanding project issues, documentation, punch-list items, and closeout requirements through completion.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide responsive, solutions-oriented leadership throughout construction.
• Mentor and support project team members while promoting strong technical and documentation standards.

Job Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in architecture, construction administration, construction management, or a closely related discipline.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Strong experience delivering HEALTHCARE (HCAi / OSHPD) projects in California .
• Demonstrated knowledge of HCAI / OSHPD re quirements and regulated healthcare construction strongly preferred.
• Prior experience leading the construction administration phase of medium to large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, detailing, building systems, contract documents, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Advanced experience reviewing and responding to RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and other CA documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and consultant construction documents at a highly technical level.
• Experience coordinating directly with contractors, consultants, clients, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple project stakeholders in a fast-moving construction environment.
• Registered Architect (RA) preferred, with California licensure highly desirable.
