• Pay Rate: $55.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 12-Hour Nights, 18:45–07:15 (3×12)

Job Summary

This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Room (ER) at a regional referral and tertiary care center serving all populations, operating under a Nursing/Travel-Contract employment model. The unit accepts first-time travelers as well as local candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care within a unit ratio of 1:3–5, supporting a facility averaging 250 visits per day across 101 beds.
• Float between the Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health, depending on where the greatest need is.
• Perform IV starts, triage, and telemetry monitoring as core unit functions.
• Participate in daily shift huddles and utilize SBAR communication methodology.
• Work a minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week time track, with potential for every other weekend.
• Complete a 24-hour unit orientation prior to independent practice.
• Adhere to unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR, and daily shift huddles.

Education Requirements

• Active RN License required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• BCLS (Basic Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required
• MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certification required
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Traveler experience: Unit will accept 1st-time travelers
• Local candidates accepted (rate difference may apply)

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Float Requirement: Floating is required. Float will be between the Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health, depending on where the greatest need is.
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week time track; could be as much as every other weekend.
• Scrub Colors: Navy/White
• Patient Population: Regional referral and tertiary care center serving all populations.
• Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR, Daily shift huddles
• Unit Orientation: 24 hours
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• COVID-19 vaccination: Not required

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.
• 36 hours can be offered per week.
