Lab Technician

Description Summary The laboratory technician performs tasks within a wide scope of laboratory functions. This position is responsible for the receipt, organization, testing, and reporting of daily patient specimens in various testing. The laboratory technician will adhere to protocols and quality measures while performing sample preparation and analyzing patient results. Job Responsibilities Accession orders, analyze, review, and release toxicology and molecular data through LIS Maintain accurate error logs daily and communicate errors to appropriate locations/personnel Maintain laboratory records, maintenance logs, temperature logs, and other documents as needed Performs and reviews drug screening and evaluates data (on urinalysis analyzers and HPLC-MS/MS) Assists in DNA/RNA extraction and performing diagnostic PCR testing Adhere to policies and procedures Comply with safety and compliance regulations · Train on all laboratory testing and help other areas as directed. These responsibilities will include: o Responsible for general operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Monitors and records temperature settings and calibration of laboratory equipment Prepares calibration, QC material, and reagents Ensures quality assurance/quality control of highly complex lab Performs screening procedures and statistical analysis Responsible for maintaining working inventory Participate in routine laboratory tasks and other duties as assigned · Assist other departments as directed Job Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry,ORBachelor’s degree with 24+ credit hours of Biology and Chemistry classwork and >3 months of laboratory training Skills Attention to detail Effective communication skills verbally and written Positive, patient focused attitude Ability to manage change Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Education: Bachelor's (Preferred) Company Description At Cypress Healthcare, our goal is to improve the quality of life of our patients.
