Deskside Support Technician

Employment Type: Full-Time W2 Experience: 3–5 years Scope of the Role: We are looking for a skilled Deskside Support Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support. The engineer will provide onsite technical support covering basic networking, data center operations, monitoring tools, hardware troubleshooting, operating systems, and ITSM tools. The role also requires coordination with internal teams, customers, vendors, and remote technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Key Responsibilities & Skills: Basic knowledge of network devices such as switches, routers, and wireless access points, preferably Cisco and Riverbed. Basic understanding of assigning switch ports to specific VLANs. Patch phone ports to switches as required. Basic troubleshooting and configuration of Avaya VoIP phones. Troubleshoot fiber-link issues between switches and communicate findings effectively to remote technical teams. Troubleshoot and replace network switch chassis blades when required. Knowledge of Data Center Infrastructure Management applications is preferred. Perform periodic, minimum twice-weekly, visual checks of IDF rooms for cooling and power status, including UPS alarms and PDU health. Basic knowledge of Control-M, EMC Avamar, and Data Domain. Basic knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds. Basic understanding of networking and operating systems. Assist network and data center administrators, internal teams, customers, and vendors with technical troubleshooting. Basic knowledge of servers and storage devices. Ability to understand and interpret monitoring tool alerts and results. Basic knowledge of ITSM tools, preferably ServiceNow. Basic knowledge of backup technologies, preferably EMC Avamar. Basic knowledge of Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems. Basic understanding of Active Directory, MS Exchange, and File/Print Server environments. Experience working in an SLA-based environment. Knowledge of server performance monitoring is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Teceze USA
