Overview Registered Nurse ER opportunity at Lee's Summit Medical Center, part of the HCA Healthcare family. Eligible candidates provide patient-centered, high-quality care in the Emergency Department in alignment with department standards and state/specialty requirements. Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the department's required scope and standards. Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to offer individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models (Assess, Perform, Teach, Manage). Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, with reassessments after interventions. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers. Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and resolve needs. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up measures; translate complex medical terminology for clear understanding. Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes. Prepare patients and families for future self-management. Qualifications RN—registered nurse with license appropriate to state requirements. NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
