Registered Nurse (RN) Per Diem ER Night Shift

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards and philosophy.
• Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
• ED Nurse Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Performs NIHSS and bedside swallow, assists with telemedicine consult and physician examination/evaluation of thrombolytic therapy inclusion/exclusion criteria, mixing, administration and monitoring of thrombolytic therapy if patient deemed a candidate, preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated, assumes patient care while in the Emergency Department.
• Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the NIHSS training and a minimum of 8 hours of stroke related training annually.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program. BSN preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 2 years emergency room experience.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS (current upon hire) TNCC (within 6 months of hire)
• Current Florida nursing license.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
