Electrical Engineer

Aegis is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our client's organization. The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:
- 1-3+ years of electrical engineering/electrical design experience preferred; 2+ years could work if the experience is very relevant.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline. They may consider someone without the degree if their experience checks the other boxes.
- Hands-on AutoCAD Electrical experience - this sounds like the biggest non-negotiable.
- Experience designing electrical control panels/cabinets for machinery, automation equipment, or industrial equipment.
- Strong experience with electrical schematics, experience designing AC/DC power circuits, maintaining & creating BOMs for electrical designs.
- Ability to perform electrical calculations, including FLA/full-load amperage and control cabinet power calculations.
- Strong Excel skills for calculations and data manipulation.
- Comfortable working directly with electricians, mechanical engineers, controls engineers, and other electrical engineers on the manufacturing floor.
- Must be comfortable working onsite Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM in Chicago. & can travel occasionally and have/obtain the documentation required for travel. (PASSPORT - maybe 1-2 times per quarter.
- UL standards/compliance experience, especially related to industrial control panels.
- Experience ensuring components and panel designs meet UL requirements.
- Electrical design experience within packaging machinery, automation, OEM equipment, or custom machine building.
- Experience designing complete control cabinets from component selection through finished electrical drawings.
