About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Legal for Transmission. The successful candidate will serve as the primary legal advisor to the President of Transmission and the leadership team, providing strategic and business-focused legal counsel in support of the company's objectives, operations, and growth priorities. This role involves leading the legal strategy for commercial matters, transactions, procurement, and real estate, and managing a small, specialized legal team. The Vice President will be responsible for executive and strategic legal counsel, commercial and transactional matters, procurement and contracting, real estate and property matters, legal risk, governance, and compliance, as well as leading the team in identifying and mitigating legal risks. Candidates for this position should have a Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree, a minimum of 14 years of legal experience, and an active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction. The role requires a strong background in commercial and transactional law, experience in advising senior executives, and a proven track record in leading legal professionals and managing outside counsel. The ideal candidate will have experience in a capital-intensive industry, such as energy or infrastructure, and a deep understanding of legal issues related to procurement, supply chain, construction, and real estate. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, as is a commitment to ethical conduct and compliance.
