Position Overview The Program Coordinator I, under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development and implementation of assigned program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Student Academic Support, Advising & Success Creates purposeful interactions with students to develop individualized, student-centered educational plans that support academic success. Assesses the academic and support needs of program participants. Provides academic support and enrichment opportunities, including study skills, computer skills, and writing workshops. Provides goal-oriented academic advising to help students make informed decisions regarding educational planning and career exploration. Monitors student academic progress, grades, and program participation. Assists students in addressing academic or personal barriers and connects them with appropriate university and community support services. Advises students regarding academic policies and procedures, including academic probation and suspension, course withdrawal, and satisfactory academic progress. Develops and administers curriculum based on the individual needs and academic preparation of participants. Assists participants with accessing and utilizing online learning materials. Develops tutoring schedules based on individual student needs and academic preparation. Advises and trains student tutors and peer mentors to effectively support program participants. Collaborates with other programs and university faculty and staff to address participant needs and promote student success. Provides high-quality customer service to prospective participants, current participants, students, the university, and the community. Program Administration, Records, Compliance & Evaluation Plans, implements, and assists with the evaluation of program services and activities. Maintains accurate student records, grades, participation information, financial records, and other required program documentation. Maintains program records and databases, including hard-copy and electronic files. Reviews program applications, interviews students and parents, and ensures required documentation is complete and compliant with applicable rules and regulations. Collects, compiles, enters, and monitors data related to program goals and objectives. Compiles program statistics and assists with data preparation for required reports, including Annual Performance Reports submitted to the U.S. Department of Education. Ensures program services, records, and activities comply with federal grant requirements and university rules and regulations. Coordinates project activities and services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Assists with preparing and monitoring program and event budgets. Assists in identifying potential funding opportunities. Assists with updating the Veterans Upward Bound handbook in coordination with administrative support. Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings, eligibility, activities, and services. May supervise program staff. Program Development, Outreach, Events & Communications Plans and implements program events, including conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, workshops, and educational activities. Plans and delivers educational seminars, workshops, academic classes, enrichment activities, and other programming for Veterans Upward Bound participants.
