ONT Field Maintenance Technician

POSITION: Maintenance Technician Department: Operations/Facilities. Reports to: Director of Operations. FLSA Status: Part Time/Non-Exempt. Compensation: $23.00 an Hour.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and physical well-being of ONT Field, including utilities, HVAC, and repairs. Operate, monitor, repair, and maintain environmental controls, emergency power, electrical, HVAC, fire system, and lighting systems for safe and efficient operation. Perform major and minor repairs to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on low and high pressure boilers, checking safety devices, installing, repairing, and testing backflow devices, and treating water in boilers, chilled water, and condenser water systems. Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on bearings, pumps, motors, shaft alignments, and fans. Repair and maintain food service equipment, including ovens, grills, dishwashers, deep fryers, and refrigeration units. Perform general maintenance on equipment rooms, including painting to maintain a clean and safe environment. Locate, check, and clean building smoke detector heads to ensure reliable operation during emergencies. Respond to public inquiries courteously, providing information and service within event orders and resolving complaints efficiently. Ensure that safety plans are fully in place and that all safety policies are followed. Operate equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, electric carts, and miscellaneous hand and power tools. Recommend requisition of supplies and materials to Operations Manager. Maintain daily work records. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED (required). Valid California Driver’s License. EPA 608 certification. Forklift certification preferred. Knowledge of operating principles of a wide range of HVAC units. Maintenance and repair techniques of food service equipment. Electrical practices knowledge. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to operate modern office equipment, including computer, fax, phone, and copy machine. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and various equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, and electric carts. Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds, and to stoop and lift as required. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must pass a background check.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lb. throughout the day. Work may be inside or outside the building and may involve hazardous chemicals. Irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, are required, especially during events.
