Vice President of Construction

A well-established and growing residential construction organization is seeking a Vice President to join its executive leadership team.

This is a long-term succession-planning opportunity for an accomplished construction leader who wants to take the next step in their career. The individual will work directly alongside existing senior leadership, initially learning the organization and progressively assuming responsibility across multiple divisions and functions.

The ultimate goal is to develop this individual into one of the organization's senior-most leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across multiple operational divisions and functions.
• Develop strong relationships with field teams, department heads, customers, and industry partners.
• Work closely with senior leadership on operational performance, strategic decisions, and long-term planning.
• Maintain an active field presence and ensure company standards for quality, productivity, and execution are being met.
• Review operational and financial reports and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Understand and evaluate estimating, manpower, materials, equipment, scheduling, and project execution.
• Participate in hiring, developing, and mentoring department and division leaders.
• Lead regular meetings with operational leadership to maintain accountability and achieve company goals.
• Strengthen existing customer relationships and develop new relationships within the market.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, systems, and operating methods as the organization continues to evolve.

Ideal Background

The ideal candidate is a field-oriented construction operator who has progressed into senior leadership . Experience with a production homebuilder, residential subcontractor, specialty contractor, or general contractor would be highly relevant.

• Significant construction operations and leadership experience.
• Strong field knowledge and credibility with construction teams.
• Experience managing multiple teams, departments, divisions, or operational functions.
• Understanding of blueprints, specifications, scopes, estimating, scheduling, manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Financial and business acumen with the ability to understand operational reports and financial statements.
