This role offers hands-on training in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where you will gain exposure to commodity merchandising, supply chain management, and risk management within the agriculture industry.As a Merchandiser, you will work with soybeans and finished soybean products while developing relationships with suppliers and customers. This position is ideal for someone looking to build negotiation, problem-solving, and market analysis skills while learning the fundamentals of hedging and commodity trading.Key ResponsibilitiesMerchandise soybeans and finished soybean productsNegotiate transactions with suppliers and end-usersBuild and maintain strong business relationships with key customersParticipate in supply chain coordination and risk management activitiesCollaborate with internal departments to optimize operationsResearch, analyze, and interpret market and industry dataRepresent the company at plant locations, customer sites, and industry eventsTravel periodically to production facilities and customer locationsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, finance, agriculture, or a related fieldStrong critical-thinking and decision-making skillsComfortable negotiating and operating in a competitive environmentExcellent communication and customer service skillsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple prioritiesInterest or background in agriculture, farming, grain, soy trading, or soybean products preferred, but not requiredWhy Join UsAGP is a cooperatively owned agribusiness engaged in procuring, processing, marketing, and transporting oilseeds, grains, and related products.
